Morning Scrawl

Somewhere in the dead of night,
You steal away my time.
You suck the essence from my soul,
And flee the scenic crime.

I awake, drained and shaken;
The empty shell of a seed.
My core has been invaded,
And raped by nocturnal deeds.

I’m left without a memory,
No grains of sand to hold.
You blanket me in ecstasy,
Divine fabrics unfold.

Red thread between us like a leash,
You pull until it’s taut.
Taking my love just like a thief,
My protests, all for naught.
